A 390-powered 1969 Mustang Mach 1. This year was the first that the Mach 1 was produced along with a number of other factory-tuned Mustangs, giving Ford fans a number of options rather than just the Shelbys and stock Mustangs.

Another shot of the Kelmark GT. You might recognize this car as the one on the sign for The Racer’s Edge in “The Fast and the Furious”.

A slammed, shaved, and custom-painted S-10 at the 2010 Adirondack Nats.

Cadillac XLR and a couple of Pontiac GTO’s waiting to be bought

A 1969 Camaro Z/28 with a cowl induction hood at the 2010 Adirondack Nats. This is one of Chevy’s all-time greats, and won the Trans Am titles in 1968 and 1969. It is a car which is better suited for a racing circuit than a drag strip, which is unusual for a muscle car.

A custom fox-body Mustang convertible at the 2010 Curtis Lumber car show in Burnt Hills, NY. This car features a fully built and supercharged 5.0-liter Windsor V-8, custom-upholstered interior, custom sound system, and a PS2 and flatscreen TV in front of the passenger’s seat.

A ‘75 Corvette Stingray powered by a built and blown 350

A mid-70’s Citroen CX Prestige at the 2010 Hemmings Sports and Exotics Show at Saratoga. This actually won the European Car of the Year Award in 1975, and was known for having a massive amount of rear legroom

An original 1940 Chevy Special Deluxe at Leadfoot Lucy’s Cruise-in.

No idea what this was originally but it looks awesome now

Flamed, lowered, and heavily chromed 1950 Mercury Eight “Lead Sled” at the 2010 Curtis Lumber Car Show.

Resto-rodded Chevy coupe showing off it’s guts.

Engine bay of a 2010 Nissan GT-R. Every single one of these is entirely handbuilt to very stringent standards, resulting in a car with incredible handling and performance.

A 1985 Renault Alpine Turbo 2. These are excellent hot hatches, and are powered by a mid-mounted I-4. The design was created with rally racing in mind, and immediately proved itself by winning the Monte Carlo Rally in it’s first-ever race in 1981(with the original Turbo 1 variant).

An extensively built first-gen Mustang at te 2011 Cruisin’ On The Ave Scotia car show.

Slammed custom station wagon at the 2010 Adirondack Nats

A customized Lincoln Mark LT at the 2010 Goodguys Rod and Custom Show in Old Rhinebeck, NY. This is basically a luxury version of the F-150, and was seen as a Cadillac Escalade alternative. It is no longer sold in the U.S., but continues to be made for Mexico.

A third-gen Cadillac Eldorado at the 2011 Cadillac and Hudson show at the Saratoga Auto Museum.

A ‘57 Bel Air sedan at the 2011 Cole’s Collision car show.

A 2010 Dodge Viper ACR. Cars don’t come much more aggressive than this thing, one look at that stance just tells you how capable this thing is

An extremely rare Fiat 8V Ghia Supersonic on display along with a rebuilt engine at Saratoga Auto Museum’s Forza Italia! exhibit. The engine is a 2.0 liter V-8 with twin Weber carbs mated to a 4-speed transmission, a combination which proved successful in racing. Of the 114 Bv’s built, only 15 of them were Supersonics like this example.

A 1960 Ford Thunderbird at the 2010 Rotterdam Elks car show. This was the first year for the Thunderbird to be a 4-seater, a move which was seen by some as controversial. Originally the T-bird was designed as a pure sports car to directly compete with the Corvette, but within a few years became more of a luxury car then a performance car.

Engine bay of my new favorite Mustang: the 2012 Boss 302. This is the standard 5.0-liter V-8 beefed up to 444 horsepower from the standard 412.

A pinstriped C3 Corvette Stingray convertible at the 2010 Curtis Lumber car show in Burnt Hills, NY. The base engine on these was a 300 horsepower 350 V-8, and the side-exiting exhaust on this one was a factory option.

A ‘55 Bel Air overlooking a modified Corvette at the 2010 Clarkson spring car show.

http://www.diariodeleon.es/

A 502-powered and Ram Jet supercharged Chevelle SS at Morris Ford’s 2010 car show. This thing must absolutely shred tires

The Porsche 968 was developed as an entry-level car to replace the 944, and was produced for just a few years(1992-1995). A noticeable difference between this and the 944 it replaced is the lack of flip-up headlights. The year after this went out of production, the Boxster took over as the entry-level Porsche and remains in production to this day.

No idea what this was originally but it looks awesome now

Another shot of the Kelmark GT. You might recognize this car as the one on the sign for The Racer’s Edge in “The Fast and the Furious”.

A Ford Mustang GT/GTA fastback at the 2010 Curtis Lumber car show. This was the first year that a big-block V-8 was made available as an engine option(a 390).

A 1972 Maserati Ghibli at Saratoga Auto Museum. It’s closest rival was the Ferrari Daytona, which was a bit quicker than it. However, it was an extremely smooth ride. Power came through a quad-cam V-8 mated to a 5-speed transmission.

A 580 horsepower supercharged 2003 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra. The Cobra was an extremely popular limited-edition upgrade built from 1993 until the end of the New Edge body style Mustang in 2004. Engine was a tuned-up supercharged version of the GT’s 4.6 liter modular V-8 producing 390 horsepower from the factory.

An immaculate Packard 120 Deluxe Woody at last summer’s Saratoga Auto Museum Woody exhibit. This example is from the second production run of 120’s, and the 120 was produced as a mid-level V-8 with a wide range of body styles available.

A pair of VW Golf tuners at the 2010 Clarkson University spring car show. These were some of the first hot hatches to be made, and helped define what a hot hatch really is. The quickest Golf model is the all wheel drive Golf R32, which is powered by a rev-happy 3.2 liter V-6.

A late-70’s Corvette with a body kit and airbrushed mural on the side. The view from the driver’s seat must be interesting with that ram-air hood and long nose

A rally-inspired 1982 Mini Cooper at the 2010 Hemmings Sports and Exotics Show in Saratoga. When they first came out, Minis used their small size and great handling characteristics to really clean up in rally racing

A BMW Z8 pace car at the Nurburgring Museum in 2007.

A Porsche 550 Spider(probably a replica) at the 2010 Auto Haus Open Haus. They were originally produced with racing in mind, and unfortunately are most often remembered as the car that killed James Dean

A 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge. The Judge was an upgraded GTO produced in limited numbers, and was made to top the GTO line in both style and performance. Originally introduced in 1969, engine options were a 400 c.i. and 455 c.i. V-8.

A droptop Ford Highboy hot rod at the 2010 Adirondack Nationals. The traffic in the backround really shows what Lake George is all about during the show, this picture was taken about a mile and a half from where the actual show is

A 2004 Porsche 911 GT3 at the 2010 Auto Haus Open Haus. The GT3 is a lightened version of the standard 996 Carrera, and uses a 3.6 liter flat-6 tuned to 360 horses

The Lotus Elise has been a mainstay of Lotus’ lineup since first being introduced in 1996. These are very lightweight, nimble cars that possess some of the best handling characteristics of any production car. They are understandably very popular with the track day and autocross crowd.

A hot-rodded Ford coupe at the 2010 Adirondack Nationals at Lake George, NY. The ZZ Top-inspired graphics separating paint colors and the color-coded engine and interior make for a great package

A ‘55 Bel Air overlooking a modified Corvette at the 2010 Clarkson spring car show.

A display of BMW engines at the Nurburgring Museum in 2007. That place is a real mecca for any real car fan, i can’t wait to go back again sometime and hopefully get a chance to drive on the Nordschleife

A blown, flamed T-bucket hot rod. Old-school rodding with modern technology makes a damn impressive final product here

Tail end of the Auburn Speedster. This is one of the all-time great American cars, with timeless styling and performance to match.

A 1963 Chevy Corvair at the 2011 Helderberg Mountain Nationals. These were famous for their unusual rear-engine configuration and for being extremely dangerous in rear-end collisions thanks to Ralph Nader. To improve the otherwise pretty slow performance, a supercharged option was also produced which improved power from 80 to 150 horsepower.

The owner of this Gulf has a good sense of humor
